Kate Lamont is releasing her beat-driven soul extravaganza of a new EP in epic fashion at the kickoff of the 5th annual Broad Ripple Music Fest. This event will be more than just a celebration of over 10 years of songwriting for the Indianapolis native, but also a proper send off as she prepares to move to San Fransisco, CA. She describes her new work, which was produced by local drum and beat officianado Devon Ashley, as "Sade meets Peter Gabriel meets Outkast". She'll be backed by a full band comprised of former Mab Lab turntablist Mike Graves, drummer Devon Ashley and saxophonist Josh Silbert.
Vess Ruhtenberg will be appearing as a full band ensemble performing songs from throughout his entire career. TJ Reynolds and the Freehand Orchestra will be opening the show with cuts from their excellent new album "Purpose". DJ Kyle Long will be mashing world beats throughout the evening.
